There are some 25 dive sites around Dahab, amongst them the world-famous top-spots "Canyon", "Blue Hole" and "El Bells". North of Dahab, in the "Abu Ras Galum" nature reserve, we have sites that are only accessible through daytrips with the help of camels. The sites around "Gabr e-Bint" to the south of Dahab can also only be visited on such safaris. In general, diving around Dahab is done from shore, with 4-wheel-drive jeeps and taxis carrying divers and equipment directly from the divecenter door to the entrance at the reefs. Many dives are along steep drop-offs that descend down several hundred meters. All divecenters in Dahab therefore are very strict in staying within the limits of recreational diving. More information about the local safety rules and standards can be found on the "diveinfo" page. |
